Update - The Ethics Commission has found that Council Members participating in the Citizens Election Fund are not prohibited from voting on the remedy Bills currently before the Council. 2/3/2022.
It will be good to see this issue resolved. This controversy having occurred, will make it interesting to see when and if Council Members seek any further Ethics Advisory opinions regarding having to recuse themselves from votes that could indirectly, potentially benefit their campaign finance accounts, in the future.
Pay attention to the Council races in this election year and vote for those who take all their constituents' needs into consideration and are not overly influenced by one special interest of developers when so much of their job affects that industry financially.
